The Kiln Charge is the backbone of the Kiln Charges Workflow in Traece™. It is a Status driven process that walks you through the steps of creating a Charge for your Kiln, adding material to your Charge then Drying and moving your material to its final location.

The goal of this workflow in Traece™ is to make it as easy and effortless as possible to manage your Kiln runs while at the same time enabling you to keep detailed history and records about the process.

In the following sections we will review each process step as well as provide jumping points into more detailed documentation on how to use each step in the process within Traece™.

Creating a Kiln Charge

The first step in the process is to create a new Kiln Charge in Traece™. New Charges will always have a status of Pending and you can have as many Charges in this status as you like.

While in this status you can pick the dates you wish to run this Charge and add your material to it. This enables you to create a schedule of runs that allows you to better plan your Kiln runs in the future and maximize how you move material through your Kilns.

Loading your Material

When you are ready to start running the Charge in your Kiln you will move to the Loading status of the Charge. In this phase you will load each item in your Charge into the Kiln selected for the Charge.

Traece™ makes this extremely easy by providing you with a ‘checklist-like’ tool that allows you to keep track of what you have loaded and what you have not. This ensures accuracy in recording what is really happening in your Kiln Charge and what material is being dried.

Drying your Material

Once loading is complete it is now time to start the Drying process. When you have closed the doors to your Kiln and fired it up you should move the Charge in Traece™ to this status.

During this status Traece™ provides you with tools to record your regular moisture readings and take any notes on the drying process along the way. This can provide you with critical information which is especially helpful if you have multiple Kiln Charges going or coordinating a Charge across more than one team member.

Unloading your Material

When you end the Drying cycle in your Kiln you will move the Charge in Traece™ to the Stopped Status. In this status you will use another ‘checklist-like’ tool similar to loading where you keep track of the material as you remove it from the Kiln.

While unloading material, Traece™ will prompt you to assign a new Location and Status to each piece of material so that you can ensure that material is ready to sell and in the right place in your shop.

Completing the Kiln Charge

With all the material dried and unloaded it is time to complete the Kiln Charge and record the data to Traece™. Once complete, you can go back any time and review your Charge history and details directly from the Kiln Charge Workflow area in Traece™.

More Information

The Kiln Charge Workflow in Traece™ offers you the ability to not only run an organized and efficient operation of your Kilns but also detailed recording keeping of your operations and production of your material. With the Kiln Charge Workflow we hope that running your Kilns is as effortless a process as possible!
