Merging packs in Traece™ allows you to combine two or more packs of dimensional lumber into a single pack, helping to streamline your inventory management and maintain organization. This feature is essential for businesses that need to consolidate materials with similar characteristics, reduce inventory clutter, and maximize storage efficiency.

Here’s a guide on how to merge packs and optimize your inventory management process.

Merge Industrial Packs

To begin the merging process:

  • From your left-hand navigation menu in Traece™, click on Industrial Packs

  • Click on the actions icon next to the pack you want to merge and select Merge

Note: You can only merge packs that share the same species, thickness, and grade.

Select the Packs to Merge

  • Click the “Pack 2” dropdown to select the second pack to merge with the first.

Note: You can merge up to three packs together. If you want to merge an additional pack, click "Add Pack" to include another pack.

Confirm Merge Information

Once you’ve selected the packs you wish to merge:

  • Review and confirm the merge information. You can update specific details of the pack depending on the contents being merged. This includes adjusting certain dimensions, tags, characters, and barcodes to ensure the merged pack reflects the combined materials accurately.

Note: If you merge packs with differing dimensions—such as average board widths, average board lengths, pack widths, or the number of rows—a "Recalculate" button may appear when you attempt to update the pack dimensions. This button will only be seen in certain situations where recalculation is needed. When it appears, you must select which dimension to recalculate to accurately reflect the correct available board feet of the merged packs.

Note: After merging the packs, the original packs will be archived automatically. The location and status of the pack that absorbed the other packs will remain unchanged.

Confirm the Merge

  • Click Confirm to complete the merging process.

Important Note: Editing Restrictions After Merging

Once packs have been merged, split, or partially sold, you will not be able to edit any of the dimensions of the packs. Ensure all information is correct before completing these actions to maintain accurate records and inventory control.

By merging packs in Traece™, you can efficiently consolidate materials, maintain accurate records, and enhance overall inventory management.
