How to set up Categories in Traece™

Categories are important in helping Traece™ accurately calculate board footage or square footage. By assigning a category to each item, you tell the system which algorithm to use for the calculation. This ensures that your inventory is properly managed and priced.

Required User Level(s): Admin only

Accessing Categories

  • Navigate to your Settings in the top-right of Traece™

  • Click Configuration on the left-hand menu

  • Click the Categories tab

When you first start using Traece™, three Categories are predefined for you:

  • Cylinder: This is the category to use for Logs and Cookies.

  • Dimensional: This is the category to use for dimensional lumber and packs.

  • Slab: This is the category to use for slabs.

When you're creating or modifying a Category, you have the choice of selecting one of the three formulas mentioned above. This will inform Traece™ which calculation method to apply while calculating board footage or square footage.
