How to mill logs in Mill Planning in Traece™

When you're ready to start milling, the Milling Queue feature allows you to prioritize which logs are milled first. Furthermore, Traece™ automatically updates the status of a log once it is in the log queue and then milled.

Required User Level(s): Admin, Manager, Operator only

Adding A Log to the Milling Queue

After selecting which logs to mill, move them to the Milling Queue by dragging and dropping.

  • To move a log to the Milling Queue, click and hold the hamburger icon on the Log Selection Card, then drag and drop it into the Milling Queue.

  • Once a log is in the Milling Queue, the status of the log will automatically change to Ready to Mill.

Milling Queue Log Card

Each card under the Milling Queue contains specific information about the corresponding log.

The Milling Queue Log Card will show the following details:

  • Inventory Number - Species: You can view more details about the log by clicking on the hyperlink.

  • Mill Plan of the log

    • You can edit the Mill Plan by clicking the pencil icon.

    • After making the necessary changes to the request, click anywhere on the screen, and the updated version will be saved automatically.

  • Location of the log

  • Image

Removing A Log from the Milling Queue

If you want to remove logs from the Milling Queue, drag and drop them back into the Log Selection section.

  • To remove a log from the Milling Queue, click and hold the hamburger icon on the Milling Queue Log Card, then drag and drop it into the Log Selection section.

    • Click on Confirm

  • Another way to remove a log from the Milling Queue is by clicking the Remove button and then clicking Confirm.

  • When a log is returned to the Log Selection section, its status will automatically revert to its previous state.

Prioritizing Logs in the Milling Queue

To let the mill operator know the desired milling sequence for the logs, you can rearrange them.

  • To rearrange the order of logs, click and hold the hamburger icon and move the card up or down.

Milling A Log

  • Once a log has been milled, click on the Milled button

  • Click on Confirm

Once a log is milled, the status of the log will automatically change to Milled.

Also, the log will be marked as Processed.

Once milled, the log will be removed from the Milling Queue.
