Using the Traece™ Field App, you can divide a single industrial pack of dimensional lumber into smaller packs, which helps you flexibly manage your inventory and meet specific customer needs. This feature is especially helpful when dealing with different grades, sizes, or specifications within your inventory.

Here’s a guide on how to split a pack using the Traece™ Field App.

Split Pack

To begin the splitting process:

  • Click on Inventory in the Navigation Bar

  • Click on Industrial Packs

  • Select the pack you want to split

  • Click on the Actions icon (the three dots)

  • Click on Split Pack

Material Information (Step 1/2)

  • You will land on the Material Information page

  • You will see information for both the Pack being split and the New Pack Number

  • For the new pack resulting from the split, enter the Total BF or Estimated Item Number, then enter the Number of Rows or Pack Width

Note: When entering the Total BF or Estimated Item Number and Number of Rows or Pack Width, Traece™ automatically calculates the other.

You can also add or configure additional details, such as:

  • Tags, Characters, Location, Status, Barcode, Grade, and Image

  • Click Next Step to proceed

Split Information (Step 2/2)

  • Review and confirm the split information for both packs (Pack being split and New Pack).

Note: A pack will be automatically archived if it has 0 Available BF.

Confirm the Merge

  • Click Split Pack to finalize the process.

Important Note: Editing Restrictions After Splitting

Once packs have been merged, split, or partially sold, you will not be able to edit any of the dimensions of the packs. Ensure all information is correct before completing these actions to maintain accurate records and inventory control.

By following these steps, you can effectively split packs in the Traece™ Field App for better inventory management.
