The Traece™ Field App streamlines the process of adding new Industrial Packs into your inventory system. It automates board feet, number of available boards, and pricing calculations and allows you to add images, barcodes, or 2D tags. This not only simplifies the initial entry of packs but also makes it easy to scan and retrieve specific details about each item later. With the Traece™ Field App, managing your industrial pack inventory has never been more efficient.
Adding an Industrial Pack
To add a pack in the Traece™ Field App:
Click on the Inventory button in the Navigation Bar
Click on Add New Inventory
Click on Industrial Pack
Adding an industrial pack through the mobile app will be a two-step process consisting of Material Information and Additional Information.
Any fields marked with an asterisk (*) are required and must be completed.
To input information or make a selection, click on the field or arrow (>) and enter the information or select an option. Then, click on Select.
Material Information (Step 1/2)
In this step, you will be given a set of fields to fill out. These fields include the following:
Log - Industrial Packs are milled from Logs. Select the specific Log(s) that your pack originated from.
You can either select a log or scan its barcode or 2D code to fill in the field.
Note:
If a log is selected, its length will be copied to the pack's average board length.
If multiple logs are selected, their average length will be copied to the industrial pack's average board length.
You can change the value in Dimensions if needed.
Date Milled - This date pre-populates with today’s date and may be manually adjusted. This is the date an Industrial Pack is/was milled.
Species - If a Source Tree or Log has been previously entered, the Species field will automatically be filled with the Species associated with that particular Source Tree or Log. If no Source Tree or Log has been assigned to this Industrial Pack, the Species field will be blank, and you will need to select a Species manually.
Inventory Number - This is an autogenerated inventory number for the industrial pack. However, you may use your own inventory numbering system by overriding the automatic Inventory Number.
Thickness - Select the thickness of the Industrial Pack
Dimensions -
Average Board Length (inches): The average length of the boards in the Industrial Pack
Pack Width (inches): The width of the Industrial Pack
Average Board Width (inches): The average width of the boards in the Industrial Pack
Number of Rows: This entry denotes the number of Rows tall an Industrial Pack is
Minimum Board Width (inches): Entering the Minimum Board Width in an Industrial Pack reveals the smallest width available.
Minimum Board Length (inches): Industrial Packs offer the flexibility to include boards of different lengths. Some buyers may want to know the shortest board length in a pack.
Note: After entering the dimensions, the Total Available BF and Estimated Available Board will be calculated automatically.
Assigned barcode - This is the unique Signumat Tag or 2D barcode assigned to the item.
You can either input the barcode number or scan its barcode or 2D code to fill in the field.
Grading - Choose the grade for the dimensional lumber, considering the type of wood (softwood or hardwood).
Source Tree - Select the Source Tree that this Industrial Pack originates from.
Source Type - Specify the source type of the industrial pack.
Click Next Step
Additional Information (Step 2/2)
In this step, you will enter information about the industrial pack's location, status, acquisition cost, notes, description, and capture images.
Location - This is the location where an Industrial Pack may be located at any given time.
Status - Select a status for the Industrial Pack.
Tags - Add tags to help categorize and identify the industrial pack easily.
Characters - Each pack is unique, and adding characters may increase or decrease its value based on your preferences.
Industrial Pack Acquisition Cost - You can use this field to enter the cost of the Industrial Pack.
Images - You may choose to take or attach images of an Industrial Pack here.
Description - Please describe the Industrial Pack you want to capture, including its history, source, or any other relevant details.
Click Add New Item or Save and Dupe to create a similar industrial pack with slight variations
You have successfully added an Industrial Pack using the Traece™ Field App.
