In this section, you'll be guided through the process of setting up your Traece™ configuration and establishing many foundational rules for your system.

Required User Level(s): Admin

Accessing Settings

  • Navigate to your Settings in the top-right of Traece™

  • Click Settings on the left-hand menu

Configuring Client Info

The Client Info tab provides fields that allow you to input the necessary details to define your organization. The data you enter here plays a significant role in the system, as it is used to set up various settings such as PDF headers and footers, as well as eCommerce settings.

  • Click on Client Info

  • Client Name: This is the name of your organization

  • Address 1: Enter your business’s street address

  • Address 2: If your business has a suite number or unit number, enter that here

  • City: Enter the city where your business is located

  • State: Enter the state where your business is located

  • Zip: Enter the zip code where your business is

  • Phone 1: Enter your business phone number

  • Phone 2: If you have an alternate phone number, enter it here

Pricing

The Pricing tab establishes different pricing rules depending on the type of material being used.

  • Click on Pricing

  • Slab surfaced cost ($/square foot): When adding or editing a slab, you have the ability to add surfacing costs to it. In that case, Traece™ needs to know how much you charge per board foot for slab surfacing.

  • Slab sanded cost ($/square foot): When adding or editing a slab, you have the ability to add sanding costs to it. In that case, Traece™ needs to know how much you charge per board foot for slab sanding.

Additionally, the e-Commerce feature of Traece™ provides an option for your customers to request slab and sanding surfacing services.

  • Pack surfaced cost ($/square foot): When adding or editing packs, you have the ability to add surfacing costs to it. In that case, Traece™ needs to know how much you charge per square foot for pack surfacing.

  • Pack sanded cost ($/square foot): When adding or editing packs, you have the ability to add sanding costs to them. In that case, Traece™ needs to know how much you charge per square foot for pack sanding.

  • Dimensional Lumber Pricing Unit: With Traece™, you have the flexibility to select your preferred pricing unit, whether it's Board Foot or Linear Foot.

This feature enables you to tailor your pricing strategy to your unique needs and ensures that you have complete control over how you price your products and services.

Settings

The Settings tab covers a variety of settings that set rules for your Traece™ system.

  • Click on Settings

  • Round Slab Width: Select this box if you want Traece™ to round a slab’s width up or down.

For instance, if a slab’s width is 23.25 inches, Traece™ would round this down to 23 inches if this box was selected.

  • Use reCaptcha to confirm order: In an effort to reduce spam orders or claims in the e-Commerce system, you may select this box so that your customers “confirm you are not a robot”

    • The reCaptcha displayed to the customer will be as follows:

  • Surfaced thickness select box: This setting applies to internal filter options. Depending on if the checkbox is checked or not, the appearance of the Surfaced Thickness filter changes:

    • Checkbox unchecked: When the checkbox is unchecked, the filter function for Surfaced Thickness is a slider

      • The appearance of the filter when the checkbox is unchecked:

    • Checkbox checked: When the checkbox is checked, the filter function for Surfaced Thickness is comprised of two fields: Minimum surfaced thickness and Maximum surfaced thickness

      • The appearance of the filter when the checkbox is checked:

  • After changes have been made, click Save

PDF Options

The Settings section's PDF Options enables you to incorporate your brand and contact details into the system-generated PDFs. This functionality proves to be especially beneficial as it guarantees that your brand is effectively highlighted on documents that might potentially result in a sale.

  • Scroll until you see PDF Options

    • Show Page Number: Selecting this box will add Page Numbers to your PDF when it is generated.

    • Header height (in.): This is the height (in inches) of your header. Admins may increase or decrease this height depending on preference.

    • Footer height (in.): This is the height (in inches) of your footer. Admins may increase or decrease this height depending on preference.

    • Regenerate: Clicking this button automatically populates your “Header content” and “Footer content” sections with information you provided in the “Client Info” fields, described above.

Tip: Before clicking the Regenerate button, ensure all fields are filled in under Client Info.

  • Click Save

QR Settings

In the QR Settings tab, you have the option to create QR code templates, which can be printed and affixed to your slabs, logs, and dimensional lumber packs.

  • Click on Qr Settings

  • The QR Settings page displays any existing QR Page Sizes that have been defined. If no QR Pages have been created, the page will still show the table headers and the Add Page Size button

  • Click Add Page Size button: Use this button to create a new QR Page

    • Use the Margin section to define the Left, Right, Top, and Bottom margins (in inches) for the QR page size.

Tip: Keep the style/brand/size of your desired labels in mind when defining these.

  • Name: Each QR Page should have a unique name. This could be “Large Label” or “Slab Small” or “2x4” or anything that helps your team readily identify what each QR Page and label is for

  • Height (inches): This is the height of the label itself. For example, if you plan on using Avery Labels #5160 (which has dimensions of 1 inch high by 2 ⅝ inches wide), the height entered into Traece would be 1

  • Width (inches): This is the width of the label itself. For example, if you plan on using Avery Labels #5160 (which has dimensions of 1 inch high by 2 ⅝ inches wide), the height entered into Traece would be 2.625 inches

  • Type: Select what type of material this QR Page is for (Slabs, Logs, Bundles)

  • QR (inches): This represents the dimensions (inches) of the QR code itself. If “2” is entered here, the QR code would measure 2” x 2”

  • Logo (inches): This represents the dimensions (inches) of your logo (if you wish to include it on the QR Page). If “2” is entered here, the logo would measure 2” x 2”

  • Add Customer Logo: Check this box if you would like to include your logo on this QR page

  • Label Text

    • Use the Label Text section to select the fields and pieces of information to be displayed when the QR Page is generated and printed for any given item(s). This is a dynamic text editor, so text can be bold, italic, underlined, and various fonts, formatting options, images, and emojis may be added to the QR Page.

Important Note: When using the Label Text, be sure to use the Merge Field icon

Clicking on the Merge Field icon automatically adds the following fields to your QR Page, which then populates with “real” data when the QR is generated and printed.

  • {{tree}} | This field populates with the Tree Species when in use

  • {{number}} | This field populates with the Inventory Number when in use

  • Width Min: {{width_minimum}} | This field populates with the Minimum Width of an item when in use

  • Width Max: {{width_maximum}} | This field populates with the Maximum Width of an item when in use

  • Thick: {{thick}} | This field populates with the Thickness of an item when in use

  • Length: {{length}} | This field populates with the Length of an item when in use

  • Price: {{length}} | This field populates with the Price of an item when in use

Please find below the short-codes for various material types.

Tip: It may be useful to type in the Label for each of the above fields to the left of the merge field (see image below).

  • Click Save to changes when the QR Page appears correct.

  • All saved QR Pages will appear in the table once defined and will be available as options when printing QR codes for Slabs, Logs, and Packs.
