The Traece™ Field App makes adding new slabs to the system easy. It does this by automating board feet and pricing calculations and allowing you to include images and barcode or 2D tags. This makes it easy to scan and gather information about specific items later. With Traece™ Field App, managing your slab inventory has never been simpler.

Adding a Slab

  • Click on the Inventory button in the Navigation Bar

  • Click on Add New Inventory

  • Click on Slab

Adding a slab through the mobile app will be a two-step process consisting of Material Information and Additional Information.

Any fields marked with an asterisk (*) are required and must be completed.

To input information or make a selection, click on the field or arrow (>) and enter the information or select an option. Then, click on Select.

Material Information (Step 1/2)

In this step, you will be given a set of fields to fill out. These fields include the following:

  • Log - Slabs are milled from Logs. Select the specific Log that your slab(s) originated from.

You can either select a log or scan its barcode or 2D code to fill in the field.

Note: If a log is selected, its length will be copied to the slab length. You can change the value in Dimensions if needed.

  • Date Milled - This date pre-populates with today’s date and may be manually adjusted. This is the date a Slab is/was milled.

  • Species - If a Source Tree or Log has been previously entered, the Species field will automatically be filled with the Species associated with that particular Source Tree or Log. If no Source Tree or Log has been assigned to this Slab, the Species field will be blank and you will need to select a Species manually.

  • Thickness - Select the thickness of the Slab

  • Dimensions

    • Minimum Width (inches): The width at the smallest end of a Slab

    • Maximum Width (inches): The width at the largest end of a Slab

    • Average Width (inches): The average width of a Slab

    • Length (inches):

  • Inventory Number - This is an automatically generated inventory number for the Slab, consisting of a Tree prefix and an inventory number. You can also manually adjust it.

  • Assigned barcode - This is the unique Signumat Tag or 2D barcode assigned to the item.

You can either input the barcode number or scan its barcode or 2D code to fill in the field.

  • Characters - Each slab is unique, and adding characters may increase or decrease its value based on your preferences.

  • Source Tree - Select the Source Tree that this Slab originates from.

  • Click Next Step

Additional Information (Step 2/2)

In this step, you will enter information about the slab's location, status, acquisition cost, notes, description, and capture images.

  • Location - This is the location where a Slab may be located at any given time.

  • Status - Select a status for the Slab.

  • Slab Acquisition Cost - You can use this field to enter the cost of the slab.

  • Images - You may choose to take or attach images of a Slab here.

  • Description - Please describe the slab you want to capture, including its history, source, or any other relevant details.

  • Notes - If you want to keep some specific information about a slab for your own records, you can enter it here.

  • Click Add New Slab

You have successfully added a Slab using the Traece™ Field App.
